Debbie Macomber’s Joyful Mrs Miracle (2024)

Romeo & Juliet x Succession x Mary Poppins

Tow young loves, pulled apart by circumstance and… post-secondary education?

Siblings battling over control of the family empire.

A family divided can only mean one thing - this is a case for Christmas Mary Poppins!

To bring the family back together, and reunite the past loves, Mrs Merkel (aka Miracle) poses as an estate planner, helping them to sort through their dearly departed’s possessions and determine who the rightful heir really is.

A mishmash of Christmas-ish activities doesn’t do enough to sell this as a yuletide story though. Credit to Debbie Macomber who has sold over 200 million books globally, with 6 stories turned into Hallmark movies. Unfortunately, this one came out disjointed, trying to do too much with too little. Maybe the premise would have held together tighter had it been penned by Macomber, but as-is it falls flat.
