To Have and to Holiday (2024)

Father of the Bride: Hallmark Edition

They’re young, in love, and have been dating for a few months… so why not take the next natural step and get married with 3 whole weeks to plan. At Christmas. With her pastor father performing the ceremony.

Complete with flashbacks to the bride as a child, this is the not-hilarious (FotB is a classic!) spin on that idea. A father who is unsupportive of the quick wedding and wants his career-minded daughter to move back home to their small town to run the local wedding gown store. A fiancé who just wants to do right by his future father-in-law. Despite the dad’s efforts to convince them of their foolishness, they get married anyway with the dad finally on board. All tied up with a bow.

Despite some mild Christmastime activities, this wasn’t much of a Christmas movie overall.

Missed opportunity filming in Halifax - could have really leaned into it, and yet…
