Believe in Christmas (2024)

Don’t believe everything…

BFF Emilia has won an all-expense paid visit to “Christmasland,” a nearby town devoted to delivering the most magical of Christmas holidays. Unfortunately for Emilia, Beatrice is a cynic who is intent on pulling back the veil on the town’s magical charm. Cue the ongoing sequences of Christmas activities - eggnog tastings, fresh taffy pulled on snow, “tobogganing” (in front of the worst green screen ever), baking competitions, and carriage rides. But is it real? Is it a town full of actors playing their parts to maintain the ruse?

Truly a bad movie - I wanted so much more for Meghan Ory, especially when I saw that her hair was infinitely better in this one.

Maybe next time put some of the costume budget (seriously - this takes place over a few days and she wears about 261 different coats, most of them very nice) and spend it on upgrading the script and production value. And again, this was filmed in Nova Scotia! Another missed opportunity to showcase the East Coast..

I’m going to chalk this up to Ory and her IRL hubby John Reardon just taking advantage of a family holiday together on set.

Highlight might be the concept of a “Grinch Handler” to manage the cynics… every Hallmark movie should have one.
