A Serendipitous Hallmark Christmas
A winter storm means that Annie and Dave have their flight home to Chicago cancelled and, until they can get out the next day, they’re stranded at the Chateau Le Marc (Chateau Laurier in Ottawa) for one festive night.
Much like the big screen movie of the early 2000s, their one night together makes the most lasting of impacts, but alas, Dave’s alarm clock isn’t set and he misses their opportunity to journey home together. And, of course, they don’t know each other’s last names, nevermind phone numbers or place of work, so they’re stuck trying to find each other knowing only their first names and their previously-discussed Christmas plans.
A series of missed connections unfolds throughout the following days as they try to find each other until they eventually find themselves in the same place at the same time.
This was really quite lovely. The viewer obviously knows exactly where this will end up, but it was well executed.
