A little bit Griswold.
There’s a physical run-in (of course there is) and some spilled egg nog - cue a young couple falling madly in love. But can they survive their first Christmas together in their new home, joined by both sets of parents and some meddling siblings and a grandmother for good measure.
Before they can even get to Christmas they face a relationship crisis leading to a mutual decision to take “a break.” Yes, there are numerous Ross & Rachel references as you might expect with this. What they’re faced with then is a holiday season where they have to play happy couple for their parents’ sake, while struggling with if the break is what either of them really want.
This had a number of the classic tropes and made particularly good use of the Christmas market set, a fun Christmas obstacle course, and not to mention the intense Nutella product placement (not mad at this, definitely noticed so… success?). And some key scenes involving the absolutely best store-bought iced sugar cookies in existence.
This one was quite well done, lots of heart and not overly twee.
