A Danish Christmas

A Hygge Christmas

Every(?) year, Hallmark showcases one European city as part of the annual Countdown. This year, Copenhagen got the nod, and honestly? I’m kinda here for it. Who doesn’t love the idea of an ultra cozy Christmas by candlelight with mounds of fluffy blankets, fuzzy slippers, warm beverages and the occasional silent walk through a quiet park?

The plot itself centered around Ryan, a travel writer (or is he), spending the week before Christmas at a small Copenhagen inn. Showing him around is hotel exec Marie, home for the holidays and desperate to prevent her mother from selling the inn. Showing Ryan around leads Marie to fall in love with their Danish Christmas traditions all over again.

The plot is really secondary to showcasing some non-American traditions and it does so well. Still not sold on herring though.
