Season’s Greetings from Cherry Lane (2024)
Back to 7 Cherry Lane
Following on 2023’s Christmas on Cherry Lane, we return to the central home to get an update on one couple’s story and add in two additional owners’ Christmas tale.
1951
We find Joan and Charlie - a housewife and a doctor who is about to report for military duty in Korea, before an eventual post in the Philippines.
He’s worried about leaving behind his wife and wants her to have a perfect Christmas so is writing her Christmas cards to be posted while he’s away. Later, she becomes the author of a book centred around Christmas cards received from afar that are put on a wreath to hang in the window.
2003
Luke and Sarah are newlyweds hosting their first Christmas in their new home, playing host to both sets of parents. Of course, each family have their own traditions and the parents battle for supremacy for their traditions above their in-laws - everything from what will hang in the window to what kind of potatoes will be served. Along the way, Luke and Sarah realize that, until now, they’ve been in violent agreement on everything in their lives, but on this they find themselves torn.
2024
Mike and Zian return with their now daughter, with Mike hoping to surprise his husband by bringing over his long-lost grandfather from the Philippines where - you guessed it - he had been treated by Charlie back in the 1950s.

Again, was very much a This Is Us style movie. Decently enjoyable with some links between the stories along the way. This was the first of 3 follow-ups for 2024 on Hallmark+, so I suspect the next two will follow up on the other original families.
You’ll like this if…
You watched This Is Us and like that kind of non-linear storytelling.
