Mistletoe Murders: ‘Twas the Fight Before Christmas (2025)

CSI: Hallmark - Season 2, Episode 3

To close out the second season of Hallmark’s attempt to capitalize on the popularity of true crime tales, we have a murder, some relationships drama, and the return of someone from Emily’s past. And there’s nothing like closing out a bland show with a cliffhanger. Fortunately (for my Type a personality) there will be a third season next year to close that loop.

Like the previous episode, this one was moderately entertaining, especially when compared to the first season’s episodes, though other than a few random inclusions of festive decor and mentions of the season, this just isn’t very Christmassy. I get it, the IP was something about crimes at Christmas, but for this to have a Friday night (i.e. prime time) slot on Hallmark for the Countdown to Christmas… I just don’t get it…

From Hallmark:

When an upscale restauranteur is murdered, Emily finds herself harbouring an unlikely fugitive as she sleuths to clear their name; Sam is thrown when his ex-wife arrives in town. Later, Emily and Sam race to solve the murder before the new restaurant's Christmas feast; confronted with danger, Emily opens up to Sam and stops running from her past; Violet connects with her mum.

You’ll like this if…

You enjoy true crime documentaries but like… only the super bland ones.
