A Nepo-baby Christmas
It’s a tale as old as time - two singles set up by their meddling parents. They fake attraction to keep the meddlers at bay, only to catch feelings after all.
We have Amelia, a corporate lawyer one year on from a broken engagement, and Dani, a struggling NYC photographer. Helping them along are their nepo-baby advantages - Amelia is on track to become the next partner at her dad’s firm, and Dani is a the child of a famous author and her math genius professor husband. This really does help explain Dani’s Brooklyn apartment that seems about 10 times too big for an unemployed photographer who only seems to “work” at an artist collective where she is also required to donate work for auction.
Their fauxmance turns real in the runup to Christmas, helped along by Dani’s parents who showed up in NYC to avoid empty nest depression back home. But other than a handful of decorations and mentions of the holiday, this really isn’t a Christmas movie.
Points to Hallmark for LGBTQ protagonists where they’re treated as normal. GAC would never…
