The marine and the fireman…
A busted knee and a marine lamenting her predicament, not knowing if this is it for her career in service. Enter the hometown fireman who shows her that serving community doesn’t only come with a set of fatigues and the flag on your shoulder.
Also -in Hallmark tradition - there’s a seasonal competition to centre the story around. In this case, the “50th Annual Christmas Cup" in which neighboring towns compete for the title of jolliest bunch of… ok, not quite, but you get the picture. Eggnog chugging contests, competitive karaoke caroling, and a competition run like military drills with a marine at the helm.
The final conflict comes in the form of a Sophie’s Choice opportunity - to put down roots at home, or take on a military strategy role in HAWAII! This is Hallmark, so… you know where we end up here. But seriously, they have firehalls in Hawaii too… just sayin’…
A perfectly serviceable entry to the 2025 Countdown, but it won’t make it to my re-watch list.
