Forgotten Holiday

Selective amnesia not required

Girl (Kathryn) meets boy (Rob). Girl and boy fall in love. Boy proposes. Girl panics and flees. Boy gets in car crash and experiences selective amnesia that has erased the last year with Kathryn. Ok, that’s the first act. If that rings a bell, there’s an old Channing Tatum & Rachel McAdams movie, The Vow, with a similar storyline.

She’s afraid of entering into a second marriage after her first ended, but is now tasked with “re-dating” her maybe-fiancé to help him regain his memories and determine for herself if a future with him is what she really wants. Christmassy, no? Will he find out that he proposed and she bolted? Will she use the opportunity to move on, lest she get hurt again? Will he remember how much he LOVES Christmas and had planned a season’s worth of activities to share with her?

Ok, so the context is somewhat different to Hallmark’s typical holiday fare, BUT - it was done quite well, with the re-dating centered around holiday activities. You’ve got your ugly Christmas sweaters, multiple cookie-making montages, and a sleigh ride. Somewhat more serious that the bulk of the Countdown, this was a worthwhile entry nonetheless.
