Mistletoe Murders: Ides of December (2025)
CSI: Hallmark - Season 2, Episode 2
If you’re going to invoke a term typically used in relation to political assassinations/intrigue… um… you’d better come with something GOOD.
Fortunately, this two-part episode of the Mistletoe Murders series was somewhat more engaging than its predecessors. Thank goodness. I mean, they could only go up in my opinion. BUt a storyline about a murder that revolves around a stolen (forged?) painting and questionable family lineage… just what about that screams Christmas?!? Yet again - not a Christmas movie/show.
I was reminded when I saw down to write that these were based on audio books, which almost explains away the ever-distracting voiceovers, but not quite. Because if you’re putting it down on film and have a full 2 hours to tell your story, you shouldn’t need voiceovers. If Horatio Caine could do it in half the time, there’s no reason why Hallmark can’t, too.
The art world comes to Fletcher's Grove! When Sam's old partner is murdered guarding a high-profile painting, Emily teaches Sam to sleuth off the grid, and we uncover more of Emily's past. Later, Emily and Sam unravel a complicated web of lies around the mysterious painting, discovering the lengths people will go to keep secrets — including Emily's. Violet crafts a special present. Stars Sarah Drew and Peter Mooney.
