A Very Jonas Christmas Movie (2025)

Nick > Kevin > Joe. But really they’re all great.

As someone who came of age in the heyday of the early boy band era, I was raised on the dulcet tunes of Hanson. My first loves. However, over the years the Jonas Brothers have grown on me to the point I actually quite enjoy them. I even had a chance to see them live a few years ago and they totally lived up to the hype (from what I can remember of the show, but that’s between me and an open bar, not on them).

One thing I do like about them is that they seem to lean into the lore and goofiness of their perceived personas and seem to genuinely enjoy what they’re doing and where they’re at in life. And on those lines, this movie also does not take itself too seriously. They’re three grown men who have been managed since they were teens, and now need to try and get themselves home from London to the East Coast in time for Christmas. However, brotherly tension and a meddling Santa means that, in order to get there, they’re going to need to work out their issues.

An appropriate number of musical interludes (that is why we’re watching this, after all), Santa, magic, and standard holiday fare. It’s a good balance of Christmas, Jonas Brothers, and general holiday fun. It even reminded me of a Christmas movie from my youth that I might need to rewatch this year: I’ll Be Home For Christmas.

AND - a little extra icing on the cake in the form of Will Ferrell (with his entire family along for the ride!) playing himself as a die-hard Jonas Brothers fan, showing up in excellent bookending scenes. A little payback after Nick Jonas cameoed in Ferrell’s You’re Cordially Invited earlier this year.

You’ll like this if…

You like the Jonas Brothers. Or Christmas. Or Will Ferrell.

SCORE: 7/10
