Falling Like Snowflakes (2024)
Did you know that a 12-sided snowflake is the rarest kind of snowflake? And also is really just two 6-sided ones joined together? You do now.
I did not know that, and now I do.
Teagan is a small town photographer, specializing in photos of snowflakes but also somehow lives quite large for such a niche type of employment. Noah is her former high school sweetheart and a widowed dad to a teenage daughter, recently moved back to town and putting his atmospheric science degree to use as a snowplow driver. So yeah, reality in this movie is about as firm as that 12-sided snowflake Teagan is in search of. Because obviously she needs to photograph it in order to secure a big auction win and save the local community centre, etc. You know the drill. Romance rekindled, happy family time… all the usual tropes.
Not even a brief moment for a Dickensian costume (you know those are my kryptonite in these movies!) could save this from being a ho hum sort of entry. Sorry, Ottawa, this wasn’t the best entry to the annual list.
You’ll like this if…
You kinda just want to learn about snowflakes.
